Introducing Susan Jensen
Hi, my name is Sue. Welcome to my website. I am part writer and part artist ...with a huge dash of geek-girl.
I like to transform things: give me a lump of clay, and faeries spring out of it; give me a bolt of fabric, and you may find yourself ready for a toga-party-- or Shakespearean tragedy. It really could go either way.
Give me a camera tripod and I'll make wi-fry. (Wi-fry is what happens when you assemble a wok lid-- or Pringles® can-- tripod and wifi adapter into a gizmo that helps locate and boost available hot-spot signals.:D )
Bucket List
- Build a (working) computer from yard sale parts.
- Sell my life on eBay and move to Kentucky.
- Work for Actors Theatre of Louisville (in some capacity).
- Write, illustrate and publish a kid's book.
- Write and publish one or more novels.
I need some help crossing these (and a few more things) off of that bucket list, so if you are an agent or art director who could make use of my skill set, contact me!
My Mission
What I do: write, paint draw; distill, combine, refine.
When I was a kid, my mission in life was to figure out how to pull rabbits out of hats, nickels out of people’s ears, and guess what card a person was holding before they even knew themselves.
Not a lot has changed--- although I'm not quite as impressed with nickels as I used to be--- I want to be an alchemist when I grow up (if I ever do)-- changing ordinary things into extra-ordinary things.
My Big Hairy Audacious Goal - to be as prolific as Stephen King, as absurd as Janet Evanovich, as poetic as Bob Dylan, as timeless as the Beatles, as imaginative as Lewis Caroll--- and (almost) as meticulous as Mr. Monk.
That’s some pretty big stuff ... but the very notion of a Big Hairy Audacious Goal is that it’s probably too big to achieve in one lifetime, which keeps one striving to achieve the apex of their personal potential.

Education
Like Farhan Quershi in the Bollywood film 3 Idiots my parents expected their first-born to be an engineer--- while my classmates were afraid I'd try to build a bridge -- or nuclear reactor. Thus I hold a BA in theatre, with an emphasis in costume design, and a minor in engineering.
Temple University
BA in Theatre: costume design, pattern-making and construction
I developed an interest in pattern-making, and made my first pattern around age 13. As a competitive figure skater, I wanted to look cool on the ice (not just cold).
Antonelli Institute
Illustration and commercial art
Despite earning an Associate degree in commercial art at Antonelli Institute, the best life-drawing instruction I ever had was a six month certification in massage therapy. (Nothing beats hands-on anatomy.)
